The Ann Arbor Township Planning Commission and Ann
Arbor Township Board of Trustees on Monday evening approved the
site plan for a $40 million, 257-acre residential development that
includes nearly 200 acres of open space.
Bingham Farms-based Silverman Development Co. got the nod for its
Northbrooke Farms & Estates luxury homes project at Pontiac
Trail and Nixon Road, which includes 58 single-family lots clustered
on the property.
The first phase of construction is scheduled to begin in early spring.
Silverman also contributed about 200 acres of preserved open space
and 153 acres of historic farms to Ann Arbor Township, according
to a news release.
Steve Robinson, president of Silverman Development, in a statement
said the project was “a perfect balance of natural preservation
and exclusive neighborhoods.”
“We have been working closely with the Ann Arbor Township
since 2003 on this unique and creative land use to create a luxury
home community along with an important preservation agricultural
component,” Robinson said. |
